Join the ResMed Sleep and Respiratory Care Team today!
ResMed is a global leader in connected devices and digital health. We help millions of people sleep, breathe and live better lives. Are you ready to help fuel our growth? As ResMed continues to evolve with the future of healthcare, our customer-centric organization focuses on cloud-connected devices and digital health technologies that are designed to help treat and manage sleep apnea, COPD, and other chronic respiratory diseases that, together, affect over one billion people worldwide.
If you share a passion for transforming care, keeping people healthy and out of the hospital, and lowering healthcare costs, ResMed invites you to apply to an applicable role (e.g. marketing, sales or product development) within the diverse and talented Sleep and Respiratory Care team.
Why ResMed?
Imagine what you could accomplish if you could drive positive change every single day. At ResMed, you can find out. As a world-leading connected healthcare company with more than 4 million cloud-connected devices, our work changes lives with every breath. Our award-winning devices and software solutions help treat and manage sleep apnea, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and other respiratory conditions.
We are looking for a Software Engineer for our Product Development team in the development of cloud-connected medical devices. This is a permanent role.
Let’s talk about the role:
You will be part of a team writing software for sleep and respiratory care devices. That means people will breathe because of the code you write. So, the stakes are high, and quality is critical, but there is a lot of satisfaction in building a system that has a profound impact on people’s lives.
You will be involved in the normal software activities: wrangling requirements of all types and sizes, cooking up great designs, writing clean, efficient world-class object-oriented code and making sure it works. We write in C++ and Python and target various embedded processors at the core of the machines we build. This role will involve collaborating with other teams, including systems, electrical, mechanical, V&V, UX, Product Management and Digital Health Teams (DHT).
Let’s talk about you:
You will have a software or electrical engineering background, or related. Candidates with strong C++ and/or embedded development will be highly valued, although we're also looking for good programmers who are quick to learn. An engineer passionate about software quality and committed to delivering best practice software design and test. You should enjoy working collaboratively, expressing your ideas and opinions while also valuing those of your teammates.
You will need to be curious to explore the complexity of our software and hardware, creative to design the next platform architecture, and innovative to fix the trickiest bugs. There is a wealth of technology here at ResMed, so you will need to learn quickly and deeply.
We want to give you the experience and the training you need to be the best engineer that you can be.
Let’s talk about the team:
We are a diverse bunch of engineers who enjoy writing good software for a worthy cause. We work as a team, we share tasks and roles, we grow ideas, and we learn together. We may have different opinions, but we respect each other and stay focused on solutions.
We like to deliver software on time, but we value quality even more. When things go well, we celebrate. When things do not go so well, we learn and improve, rather than blame.
As we are in the business of high-performance medical devices, we need to produce adequate and accurate documentation and follow a documented process as efficiently as possible. We use Agile development practices with a key focus on continuous improvement. We also invest significant time in maintaining a large suite of automated tests because too much manual testing is unreliable, expensive, and boring.
OK, so what next?
At ResMed, we believe in supporting, inspiring, and developing our people. So, we recruit the best and then give them the tools to make a real difference in the lives of our patients. We believe that fresh thinking inspires innovation – and our shared success. If this sounds like a place you would like to work and you have the drive to transform and enhance the lives of millions of patients through your contribution at work, then today is your day! Apply now!
